Flatirons KC photos

Here is the photo of Joie going WB/BOS  under Judge Richard Beauchamp at the Flatirons KC.   She is 9 months in this photo.  It was our first show together.  We did just fine as she was WB/BOS both days--the 2nd day she went over a special for BOS.

This is Brady going BOB under Judge Beauchamp.  He said he really liked Brady, but he loved Joie.
I really had fun with the pups at these shows.  They both love showing which makes it very easy for me.

Montana Shows

Just got back from taking Brady and Joie to shows in Billings, MT.  Had a great 3 days:  Brady was WD/BOW the first 2 days to finish his AKC championship (He was shown for only 3 1/2 months -5 weekends of shows- and finished with 4 majors.).  Fun part was--it was the pups' 10 month birthday.  Joie also earned a major on that same day, so we celebrated with style.  Joie earned another 2 points the 3rd day.  She now has 9 points with 1 major.  These pups are both fun to show and they love the atmosphere.  The best part of being in shows, other than the treats they get, are all the people they get to 'play' with.
We also were visiting my mother who still lives in Billings.  The pups did a bit of a therapy visit at the retirement center where my mother lives.  The people there loved them.   My mother also went to the show with us on Thurs.  She is a true dog-lover, so really enjoyed herself there.
On Friday, we took a drive to the top of Beartooth Highway.  The views were, to say the least, gorgeous.  On parts of the drive up the switchbacks we couldn't see the 8 foot poles as they were still buried under snow.  The wind was really whipping on the Continental Divide.

Catching Up

It's been a while since I last updated this blog.  We've been busy.  In May, Jordi was contracted to do a photo shoot for Target Stores.  The crew came out of Los Angeles.  We did the shoot at a beautiful ranch ourside of Kersey, CO which is east of Greeley.  The crew fell in love with Jordi--he won them with his smile and affectionate ways.  He and a beautiful model posed beside a dark green Karmann Ghia convertible.  They also did some action shots with Jordi 'pulling' the model.  I had to get in front of him and call him to make him pull, as every time she stepped up to walk with him, he went into obedience heeling mode.  He really enjoyed himself and made quite a nice little salary.  I believe the release date should be this fall, so if you go to a Target store look for Jordi on one of the large panels they use in their displays.
Brady has added a few more points toward his AKC championship--now sitting at 10 points with both majors.  Nice to have them out of the way.  He has also had a Best of Breed along the way.  My first time out with Joie was good as well.  She added 2 more points, once going BOS over a special, and is now at 4 points.  The judges raved about her.  Grace,a Sadie puppy living in TX, has also added a few points toward her CH.  She was BOW 4 times this past weekend and now has 6 points.  We are very proud of her.
We'll post photos once we get them.

2 new UKC Champions

Entered Brady and Sadie in United Kennel Club shows this weekend.  Sadie needed 2 wins with competition to finish that championship and I thought Brady should experience some indoor shows.  Sadie was successful in finishing her championship--and Brady became a champion also!  What a surprise.  We did have other bitches entered. so I played the game of trying to get points on both Sadie and Brady--it worked beautifully.  Sadie was Best Female each time and being the only male present, Brady was Best Male.  I had to take them in against each other, so handed Sadie off to others to show and I stayed on Brady (that often gives the judge the message of which dog  you want to win.)  Anyway--the judges liked Brady better than Sadie so gave him Best of Breed each time.  He got to play with the 'big dogs' in the group judging.  He got 2 Group 2's and a Group 1--and from that he went on to Reserve Best In Show--my little guy at 6 1/2 months really showed well.  Think he was one of the youngest dogs in the shows and certainly was youngest in the group and BIS competition.  We were in good company as the BIS dogs are also winners in AKC shows.  He loves the show atmosphere and people clapping and cheering makes him happy.  I got many compliments on both Sadie and Brady--not only on their looks, but on their happy, friendly temperaments.
So now Sadie is:
URO2 AKC/UKC CH  Monumental Ravenwd Smart Choice RE TD
Brady is: UKC RBIS U-CH Monumental Taking The High Road
But-best of all-I get to bring them home to live with me, BJ, Jordi and Mackie.  Life is good.

Arizona shows

Just got back from Scottsdale, AZ where we had 5 days of sunshine and shows.  The first show was a Dalmatian Specialty where Sadie was WB/BOW/BOS over specials for a 5 point major to finish!  Yeah Sadie.  She is now CH MonumentalRavenwd Smart Choice RE TD.  I moved her up to BOB for the rest of the weekend. She was Best of Opposite Sex each day for 4 more majors and lots of points toward the Grand Championship title.  I never thought I would go for that, however, the entries were paid and we were there. Sadie had such a good time showing-it was great fun for both of us.  These were Brady's first shows.  I thought the outdoor shows would be a great place to let him begin to learn the ropes of showing.  He did very well and had a great time.  He loved the atmosphere.  He was WD/BOW on Sunday for a 3 point major and was WD Monday for another point.  What a great way to begin his career.  He is going to be a lot of fun to show.  He reminds me in many ways of his Great Grannie Mackie.
We stayed with friends in Glendale where he met their Bracco Italiano and a few Shar Pei.  Brady and the Brocco had such a good time playing.  He found the Shar Peis very interesting and played with one of them as well.  Sadie also got into the act.  She had played with a Pei last year, but sadly that little girl is no longer with us.  She was so excited when she saw the Peis, but looked disappointed when the one female was not her friend, Chanty.
I will post show photos when they arrive.  I also have lots of photos to go through of the dogs playing.  We really enjoyed the nice weather, but it's also good to be home.

Brady-Best Puppy in Match

Today Brady and I went to a large match.  There were lots of puppies there as their owners wanted them to get out one more time before the large shows that will be held in Denver next weekend.  (Brady won't be 6 months by then, so won't be showing there.) Brady kissed all the judges, stood for his exams except for his wagging tail that never stopped.  He hand-stacked, free-stacked and gaited nicely.  As a result, he was awarded Best Puppy in Match.  For that he was given a very nice crate pad, but will be giving it to his mother, Sadie, as it is pink.  He had a great time.  This pup loves the show atmosphere.  He is lots of fun.

5 months

5 months ago today we were whelping puppies and watching preseason football.  Our litter of 10 thrived (unlike our football teams that are not going to the Super Bowl) and all are doing well in their forever homes.  We are so proud of this litter.  They are having great times in their training classes. Joie, the liver girl we co-own with Pam Fisher, has been awarded a Best Puppy in Match and a Group 1 at yet another match.  They all have great temperaments.  We like the way these pups are growing up.

He sits at the article--great identification

I'm a hot little number!

Look at me!

Who could resist this face?
