Jordi-Day 1

Jordi is doing fine so far.  His Tramadol does make him tired so he's resting a lot, but he is always ready to go out to do his business-we have to give him a lot of support on these little outings.  His appetite is good.  Swelling is being kept to a minimum with massage and icing.  He's still giving us his winning smiles.

Jordi

Jordi had TPLO sugery this afternoon-he had a partial tear.  We picked him up at 6:00.  He's resting comfortably now.  Will keep him here in the office where I can watch over him day and night.  We are very fortunate to have some of the best orthopedic Vets in the country in Colorado Springs.  They have a great practice and are so good to the dogs and their owners.  Jordi actually walked in smiling and wagging his tail.  He lets them know that Dals are sweet dogs.  One of the techs asked if I'd bring Brady in for a visit--just so they can meet him, too. (Hopefully he'll never have to be a patient.)
I had Jordi on crate rest for the last 3 weeks while I was still recovering from foot surgery.  I knew I had to be able to walk and wear some kinds of shoes other than an orthopedic boot (or cast) so I would be able to walk him out when he needs to go.  He'll be in his 'apartment' (ortho bed surrounded by  an x-pen) for the next several weeks.

Jordi and Brady

Jordi and Brady (best buds) on patrol.  They are watching squirrels, birds and the dogs next door.  They spend many hours in my office looking out the window.  It's very important work, you know.  Their size difference makes them quite the odd couple.
